Winter Break!

So Winter Break has started and I know you are all really looking forward to Christmas so I think I will talk about a few of my favorite things about Christmas.

The 12 Days... I Mean My 12 Favorite Things About Christmas

12. Candy Canes- Oh candy canes are very tasty especially when you mix them with #10, and they are symbolic of the shepherds' canes.

11. Snow- Yeah, I say I don't like snow very much, but I can enjoy having a snowball fight every once in a while and Christmas just isn't the same without a fresh coat of snow on the ground.

10. Hot Chocolate- Oh the sensation of cup of hot cocoa going in your mouth and sliding down your throat is indescribable.

9. Eggnog- Who cares if you take the original recipe it becomes alcoholic? Just drink some that doesn't have any of the alcohol in it. (I am selling some of the other though if any of you need some.)

8. Christmas lights- K. I hate putting these up, first of all because I hate heights and second because I have to climb the ladder, but these are symbolic even though many people don't realize it and Christmas wouldn't be as much fun without Temple Square or the lights on all the houses.

7. Homemade Candy- It's a family tradition and if you ate one of the caramels, mindy mints, pieces of fudge, or mega-yums that we made you would understand.

6. Christmas Songs- There aren't very many things that bring the Christmas spirit faster than Christmas songs, just ask Will Ferrell. Personally, I think that the 12 Days of Christmas is one of the best no matter how long it is.

5. Christmas Tree- The ornaments and the star (which we actually have Tinkerbell on top of our tree, but anyways) are so awesome! I like putting it up and decorating it, but I think that my mom has too many ornaments so it takes too long.

4. Strauta- This is probably our most unique family tradition. Every Christmas morning. after we open presents, my grandmas and some other people in my extended family come over and we eat strauta(it's basically a sausage and egg casserole.... mmmmmm) Then we show my grandmas our presents.

3. Family- Every year we have a Christmas party on Christmas Eve with the Parry side of the family and two parties with the Turner side(One on Christmas and the other the Sunday before Christmas), but my favorite part is just my immediate family being together Christmas morning exchanging gifts.

2. Santa/presents- Maybe it's bad that I list these this high, but it is truly one of the best parts of Christmas for me. I don't about you, but I love getting new things and I love to see the joy on my siblings or parents faces when they open a gift that I truly put thought into and have them like it. With Santa, just remember that those who don't believe, don't receive.

1. Christ- Sorry if some of you don't like that I am getting religious on my post, but Christmas really isn't about any of the other stuff I put down. It is about celebrating Christ being born and the joy that he brought to all of our lives. I need to let all of you know that I know that Christ came to Earth for me and all of you and that w/o him I have no idea what I would do. He is my older brother and I know that he loves me with an unconditional love. Sorry, if some of you don't like the fact that I kinda bore my testimony in my post, but this is my blog and that is really what Christmas is all about. That is one of the best parts because everyone tries to be more like Christ at this time of year which makes everything better.

Please tell me if you disagree with any of my placements or anything on here.

Why, Jordan I am surprised in you. I didn't see a certain "someone" on that list.
